Release Date : Dec 02 2016

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – The North American 3 Atlantic Hockey League is pleased to announce the thirty-four players and four coaches selected to the 2016 NA3AHL All-Star Game. The game is being held Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Ice Works complex in Aston, Pennsylvania, home of the North American Hockey League’s Aston Rebels.

The teams will play three, 17-minute periods, beginning at 3:45 pm, prior to Aston’s NAHL home game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

“We are excited for our first All-Star Game,” said commissioner Blake MacNicol. “We are thankful for Aston hosting the event and we certainly expect a strong presence from the NAHL at the game. Statistically, several of our players are among the top players in Tier 3 junior hockey and we fully anticipate an exciting game.”

The NA3AHL All-Star Game will be streamed for free on MyHockeyTV.com as the NA3AHL Game of the Week.

Coaches
Long Island Royals head coach Ken Hoey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights head coach Josh Fusco were elected to head the two All-Star teams. Hoey has led the Royals to a 21-0 record that is not only the best mark in the NA3AHL, but is one of only four perfect marks in Tier 3 juniors. Fusco has piloted the Knights to an 18-4 record, good for the second-best mark in the league, while coaching the league’s top two scorers.

Justin Stanlick from the Jersey Wildcats and the Metro Fighting Moose’s Charles Crispino were elected to serve as assistants.

Forwards
Ten of the league’s top 11 scorers were selected to participate in the event. Jake Fuss (Fairfield, CT), the league’s leading scorer, and the third-leading scorer in Tier 3 juniors, was selected to Team Red, along with Aiden Boehm (Nesconset, NY), Artem Buzoverya (Mount Arlington, NJ), James Durante (Mahwah, NJ), Austin Mininger (Quakertown, PA), Keith O’Brien (East Setauket, NY) and Anthony Zyller (Hauppauge, NY), while Josh Kim (Livonia, NY), Hendrick Simard (Pont Rogue, Quebec, Canada), and Bryan Whelan (Rockville Center, NY) were selected to Team Black.

Also selected to Team Red were Michael Cistone (Old Bridge, NJ) and Samuel Mutkus (Jonestown, PA) and Vincent DeGeorge (Staten Island, NY), Josh Edwards (Mountain Top, PA), Tyler Murphy (Queens, NY), Stephen Perez (Bloomfield, NJ), Troy Smith (Churchton, MD), and Erik Stager (Myerstown, PA).

Defense
Twelve defensemen were selected to participate in the league’s inaugural All-Star Game, including three (Matthew Alessi (Great River, NY), Matthew Araujo (Brookhaven, NY) and Justin Geigel (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)) from the Long Island Royals, owners of lowest goals against total in the league.

Also selected were Wilkes-Barre’s Zachary Gielarowski (McMurray, PA), Rhett Padgett (Millrift, PA), and David Pfoestl (Merano, Italy), Metro’s Joe Ferrante (Fair Lawn, NJ), New Jersey’s Jacob Gooch (Mantua, NJ), Jersey’s Marc Iandiorio (Morris Plains, NJ) and Aidan Wright (Morristown, NJ), and Central Penn’s Marcos Zarragoitia (Red Lion, PA) and Austen Zimmerman (Palmyra, PA).

Goalies
Four goaltenders were selected for the event, including Long Island’s Brandon Perrone (Smithtown, NY), who recently signed to a NAHL tender with the New Jersey Junior Titans. Joining Perrone on Team Red will be Exton’s Alex Goldbrunner (Speyer, Germany). They will be opposed by Christian Pellegrino (Arnold, MA) and Ondrej Smalec (Cranford, NJ).
