FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – The North American 3 Atlantic Hockey League’s tenth week of play begins Friday evening when the Exton Bulls, fresh off the first victory in franchise history, travel to Brooklyn, New York to take on the Metro Fighting Moose at Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex. Seven games dot the week ten schedule and all games will be available on MyHockeyTV.com. Here are a few notes to get you through all the action:
NA3AHL Game of the Week
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights will head to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a Saturday matinee with in-state rival Central Penn Panthers. The Knights are among the top scoring teams in Tier 3 juniors and will look to extend its 10-game winning streak.
And then there were five…
The Long Island Royals remain one of five undefeated teams in Tier 3 junior hockey (per Tier3juniorhockey.com) with a 17-0 record. Among the five unbeatens, the Royals lead the pack in goals for, with 127, and will look to continue their winning ways with a two-game weekend series with Exton.
Making their point
With 35 goals and 45 assists, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights forward Jake Fuss (Fairfield, CT) not only leads the NA3AHL in points (80), but the forward now holds a one-point lead atop the Tier 3 scoring leaderboard.
Josh Kim (Livonia, NY) remains the Tier 3 leader in goals scored with 39, holding a four-goal edge over Fuss.
Long Island’s Matthew Araujo (Brookhaven, NY) continues to lead NA3AHL defensemen in points with 31, which also places sixth among all players.
2016 NA3AHL All-Star Game
The 2016 North American 3 Atlantic Hockey League All-Star Game will be held at Aston Ice Works on December 9 at 3:45. The North American Hockey League’s Aston Rebels will host the game, prior to their matchup against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Week Nine Stars of the Week
Taking home the weekly honors for week nine were Jake Fuss (1), Matthew Araujo (2), and Exton forward Erik Stager (Myerstown, PA) (3). Fuss earned the first star after a 13-point (6G 7A) weekend for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as the team climbed to within two points of Long Island at the top of the standings. Fuss now leads all Tier 3 junior players in points (80). Araujo grabs the second star after a five-point performance for the undefeated Royals in a pair of wins. Stager gets the nod for the final star after netting the game-winning goal in Exton’s 3-2 over Central Penn for the first win in franchise history.
