2015-16 AYHL Season Set to Kickoff

EAST HANOVER, N.J. – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s 2015-16 season is set to kickoff on Friday, September 11, 2015. The league has 46 games scheduled, spread across nine divisions, as part of its opening weekend.

“We are excited to get the new season underway,” commented AYHL commissioner Gene Palecco. “We had an outstanding 2014-15 season filled with great individual and team performances, plenty of commitments and a great showing at nationals.”

“We had tournament winners, including the prestigious international silver sticks winner, the national runner-up at the 18U National tournament, alumni placed into the United States National Team Development Program, players and alumni drafted into the OHL, USHL, NAHL and the QMJHL, players and alumni placed into Division I and Division III programs, and a record-breaking performance by AMHL alumni in the NHL draft,” Palecco continued. “With several commitments already announced and a clean sweep of the Early Bird Classic, I can’t wait to see this season play out.”

The AYHL schedule runs from Friday, September 11, 2015 through Sunday, February 21, 2016. Its annual All-Star event will again be held at Quinnipiac University on Saturday, February 6, 2016. The league will be holding two showcases in October at the Mullins Center on the campus of UMASS-Amherst (October 2-4) and as part of the East Coast College Cup (October 16-18).

The AYHL playoffs will begin on February 26 and will again be held at the Ice Line and Oaks Center Ice facilities.
