OLD GREENWICH, CONN. – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League and the North Jersey Avalanche are pleased to announce that alumnus forward Jack Badini (’98 birth year/Old Greenwich, Conn.) has committed to play his collegiate hockey at Harvard University for the 2017-18 season.

Badini spent the first half of the 2014-15 season with the Avalanche’s 18U Team, dressing for 18 games, scoring 2 goals and 8 assists, before reporting to Lincoln, who had drafted Badini in the 2014 USHL Futures Draft.

“Making the transition from the Avalanche to Lincoln was great for me because I got to develop my game against older and faster players.”

Badini registered a pair of goals and an assist in 28 games for Lincoln.

“Jack is a player that I believe will play after college,” said Avalanche Head Coach Mark Lotito. “He’s a true power forward who has a very good skill set and is a team-first guy who would run through a wall for his teammates.”

Badini chose Harvard from among several colleges vying for his service.

“Harvard has always been my first choice,” he said. “Committing to Coach Donato and the Crimson was an easy decision to make.”

“Harvard is getting not only a great hockey player but a great kid,” Lotito added. “Jack is the type of person who really know what he wants at a young age and has worked extremely hard to achieve all his goals.”
