Comcast Alumnus Tschantz to Cornell

Release Date : 12/12/2013

PENNSAUKEN, NJ – Team Comcast is proud to announce that forward Dwyer Tschantz (’95 birth year/Wilmington, DE) has committed to play Division I college hockey at Cornell University (ECAC). Tschantz is currently playing for the Indiana Ice (USHL).

Standing at almost 6'6" and 220lbs, Dwyer has a pro frame and a skill set to match. Last season as a member of Team Comcast's U-18 team, Dwyer had 9 goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 14 games played in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League and he has 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points in 15 games played with Indiana this season.

Dwyer played for Team Comcast U-18 for the previous two seasons, where he worked very hard to develop his game to become a Division I hockey player. As a prolific scorer with one of the top U18 teams in the country, Tschantz established himself as a top prospect, and was even listed on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's Players to Watch List.

"Dwyer is a hard working, motivated kid,” said Jared Beach, last season’s U18 coach. “When he first came to our club, he was very raw, but his desire to improve was always there. We are very proud of how he has developed, and we truly think he has a bright future ahead of him."

Tschantz is the 7th member of last season's U-18 team to commit Division 1, and the entire Atlantic Metropolitan Hockey League would like to wish Dwyer the best of luck at Cornell University!
